Champions League - 6th November 2012

Milan (11/10) v Malaga (5/2)

Milan are in better shape than at the beginning of the season and should have gained confidence from the 5-1 thrashing of Chievo but they’re still a poor quality side compared to recent years and aren’t worth supporting against Malaga, who have kept 5 clean sheets in the Champions League and outplayed the Italians comfortably in Spain.

Advice: 1 pt Under 2.5 goals (5/6 general)

Dynamo Kiev (7/4) v Porto (13/8)

Porto are unbeaten in 23 and arrive in Kiev on the back of 10 wins in 11, one of them being a thrilling 3-2 success over Kiev at the Dragao, so they rate the value at 13/8 despite missing a few of their key centre backs. Kiev are a stiff test at home but Porto have plenty of notable results on the road and enough quality to get a win, which offers better value than the tempting odds against for over 2.5 goals.

Advice: 2 pts Porto (13/8 general)

Manchester City (4/9) v Ajax (7)

Manchester City make no appeal at 4/9 given their dreadful record since returning to the completion, albeit against some top quality sides. Ajax readily outplayed Mancini’s men in Holland and while that result should be reversed at home, the struggles City had against West Ham at the weekend are hardly a ringing endorsement. Ajax lie only fifth in the Eredivsie but City struggled to a draw with relegated Villareal last year and might do the same here.

Advice: 1 pt Manchester City to win by one goal (3/1 Ladbrokes)

Olympiakos (11/10) v Montpellier (3)

Olympiakos’s home record in the Champions League is as solid as any in the competition and they look solid shots to beat Montpellier, having overcome the French Champions with an injury time goal in France. The Greek Super League leaders have won every home game and it took a high quality Schalke side to stop them on Matchday 1.

Advice: 2 pts Olympiakos (10/11 general)

PSG (1/6) v Dinamo Zageb (25)

PSG are still some way from the real deal judged on their 2-1 defeat at home to St Etienne, but they can call upon their talisman Zalatan Ibrahimovic for tonight’s encounter against Zagreb, who let in 4 and 6 against Lyon and Madrid respectively last year on their travels, making PSG to score 3 or more the best option.

Advice: 2 pts PSG to score 3 or more goal (4/5 general)

Real Madrid (4/9) v Borussia Dortmund (7)

Real Madrid were beaten by Borussia Dortmund in Germany but that result should be turned around with home advantage – Los Blancos have won their last seven home Champions League matches. Dortmund still pose a strong attacking threat though, so maybe both teams to score and Madrid to win might be the value.

Advice: 1 pt Madrid to win and both teams to score (9/5 Coral)
