Premiership - West Brom v Southampton

West Brom have never won on Monday Night Football but they can reverse that unlucky streak against Southampton tonight and are well worth backing heavily to do so. Having lost Roy Hodgson over the summer, there seemed to be an air of slight uncertainty about the Baggies new campaign but they’ve made a blistering start, most of it based on their home form at the Hawthorns.

In just 5 games at home, they’ve beaten both Merseyside clubs, Reading and QPR, while it look a last minute goal from Manchester City to take all three points in what was a very even game right upto the latter stages, while Newcastle needed a deflected late goal to beat them 2-1 at St James’s Park.

Southampton carry a much more potent threat than many would think for a side which seems destined for relegation, having failed to score just once since they came back to the Premier League. It’s also true that their fixture list hasn’t been kind – Chelsea are the only team they’ve not played in the top 8 – but they leak goals at an average of 2.89 a game and West Brom (currently lying 9th, but with just three less points than fifth placed Spurs along with a game in hand) have kept eight clean sheets in their last 12 Premier League matches and scored 10 goals at home.

Advice

4 pts West Brom (17/20 Bet Victor)
