Everton (4/9) v
Sunderland (7)
Sunderland have mustered only 13 shots on target in the
Premier League all season and look vulnerable going to Everton, who are
unbeaten at Goodison and deserving of their fourth place, for all that they’ve
dropped some points on the road of late. David Moyes’s men are far superior at
Goodison Park and are a tempting price at 8/11 to score 2 or more goals with
Stan James.
Advice: 3 pts Everton to score 2 or more goals (8/11 Stan
James)
Reading (13/10) v
Norwich (11/5)
A run of 7 points
from 3 matches has given new life to Norwich, who were looking like – and still
are - serious relegation contenders at the beginning of the season, although
they have a nice gap between them and the bottom three before going to Reading,
who have played some nice football only to falter in defence. Seven of Reading’s
10 games and all 4 at home have seen both teams score, so that’s the preferred
route.
Advice: 1 pt Both teams to score (4/6 Bet365)
Southampton (8/5) v
Swansea (9/5)
Southampton’s position at the bottom of the table really
doesn’t do justice to their attacking ability, but they concede far too many to
be staying in the Premiership and it’s impossible to think that a Swansea side
with so much technical ability won’t be able to create plenty of chances. They
look the value bet at 9/5.
Advice: 1 pt Swansea (9/5 general)
Stoke (evs) v QPR (3)
All signs point to a tight contest here. Stoke are twice the
team at Fortress Britannia while QPR haven’t won so far this season, so it’s
hard to get interested in Hughes’s men despite their win here last year; The
bet seems to be under 2.5 goals, which has come in 8 of Stoke’s 10 games so
far.
Advice: 1 pt Under 2.5 goals (7/10 Stan James)
Wigan (5/4) v West
Brom (9/4)
Both Wigan and West Brom have been in top form of late;
Wigan’s two wins – one against Spurs - taking them to mid table with their best
start for years, and West Brom lie fifth after beating Southampton on Monday
night. West Brom’s success has all been at home which makes one wary of backing
them, for all that Wigan are too short. With both sides boasting some decent
talent going forward, this might be an entertaining encounter and over 2.5 is
the call.
Advice: 1 pt Over 2.5 goals (6/5 Totesport)
Aston Villa (6) v
Manchester United (1/2)
Manchester United haven’t been playing like a vintage side
but should have more than enough to roll over Aston Villa, who are slowly coming
to terms with Paul Lambert’s football but still have a lot of progress to make,
for all that they’ve built a nice cushion between them and the relegation zone.
The half time/full time result In United’s
favour looks good, or failing that, the one goal winning margin for Sir Alex’s
men.
Advice: 1 pt United to win by one goal (3/1 Ladbrokes)
