International Friendly Betting - 15th August

Germany (11/8) v Argentina (11/5)

This is the match to be watching tonight if you want entertainment, with both countries normally involved in a number of high scoring friendlies. Germany will have their backers at 11/8 although Mario Gomez, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Philipp Lahm and Manuel Neuer are all out and new Argentina manager Alejandro Sabella has hit the ground running, with 4 wins on the bounce including 10 points from 15 in World Cup qualifying. In their 5 pre Euro matches, they kepy just 1 clean sheet and let in 5 goals, so both teams to score (Argentina themselves have kept just one clean sheet in their last 6) looks to be a banker. The tricky part is choosing which team to back, and at the prices Argentina just edge it, although anyone backing Die Nationalmannschaft should do so using Coral’s offer of 11/4 that they win and concede.

Advice: 1 pt Argentina to win and concede (4/1 Coral)

England (6/4) v Italy (2)

Expect a vastly different contest to the goalless Euro 2012 Quarter final that Italy dominated, with both sides having vastly weakened outfits. Italy are undoubtedly Europe’s second best side after that Tournament but they lack a goalscoring touch and that’s more evident in friendlies, where they’ve lost their last 3 without scoring. England themselves look weaker than at the Euros although they’ve still got some decent talent which could edge a tight contest.

Advice; 1 pt No goalscorer (15/2 Blue Sq), 1 pt 1-0 England (13/2 general)

Northern Ireland (9/5) v Finland (17/10)

Northern Ireland have lost their last 6 matches, two of them thrashings to Norway (3-0) and Holland (6-0) and Finland – who have kept good company in their last 6 matches and beaten Estonia and Turkey in two of their last 3 - look capable of taking a win from a vulnerable outfit right now.

Advice: 1 pt Finland (17/10 Ladbrokes)

Wales (7/4) v Bosnia (7/4)

Wales used to be the laughing stock of European football but some bright new talent is changing results – they’ve won three of their last 4 home games – and they can beat Bosnia at home tonight, who look to have a hangover from being knocked out of the playoffs by Portugal, having lost their last 6 matches. The home side can now boast players like Gareth Bale, Craig Bellamy, Joe Allen and Aaron Ramsey, which makes them a competitive outfit going forward.

Advice: 1 pt Wales (7/4 general)
Serbia (4/5) v Ireland (4)

Serbia have fallen quite a way since 2010 – where they beat Germany at the World Cup – and new manager  Sinisa Mihajlovic has run into a few problems with the squad and will be playing without a recognized striker. Serbia aren’t Spain though, and might struggle to break down Ireland, who themselves will be weaker than usual and don’t score often. The draw and no goalscorer look to be the value.

Advice: 1 pt Draw (11/4 Skybet), 1 pt No goalscorer (8/1 Ladbrokes)
