Copa America - Peru v Uruguay

Well who would have guessed that? After many, many missed chances the 4 favourites for the Copa America Quarter – Finals were all beaten, and all with only themselves to blame - Although the La Plata Pitch once again was a suitable vent for Mano Menezez’s Samba Stars after a an embarrassing, “Historically Incompetent” even as called by top Brazilian paper O Globo.

This set of circumstances has led to Uruguay being the hot favourites to claim the tournament and now tonight’s semi – final against Peru, although there’s not much mileage in a short price which has proven unrewarding to punters in the latter stages so far.

Three of the four quarters have required extra time to separate the two sides and two have gone to penalties, so while the games have seen more attacking play, it has comes from the “better” teams and there have been no games with over 2.5 goals.

For those who think this will be settled in the90 and that will be that, five of Peru's last seven matches have finished all-square and Uruguay have drawn three of their four games in the tournament so far. These figures include the meeting between the two teams in the opening match of Group C - a 1-1 draw in San Juan.

This could be yet another tight game given that Peru have a sensational defensive record – They have conceded only two goals all tournament and only thee in 10 beforehand. With the La Plata pitch and a lack of goals at the ground, backing the Half Time Draw makes a huge amount of appeal and having a saver on No Goalscorer at a big price.

Advice

3 pts Half Time Draw (20/21 Stan James)

0.5 pt No Goalscorer (15/2 Stan James)
