Tyros Stakes 2011

6.25 Leopardstown
Korean Racing Authority Tyros Stakes (group 3) (Class 1)  (2YO only)
Winner €30,875

Pick: Parish Hall (win)

Owner detailsCheerful Giver: Still yet to break his maiden and outclassed last time; Probably here to ensure a decent gallop.

Owner detailsOrchestra Leader: Easily put away on debut when far too raw but different horse for the experience when flying late home to claim useful sorts in strong maiden last time out; This step up in trip should suit and he rates a big player here.

Owner detailsParish Hall: Made a deep impression when only of only two horses good enough to catch subsequent Listed winner Requinto (subsequent winner Raphel Santi behind) on debut at
Leopardstown, shaping as if this step up in trip would suit, and well up to group company.

Owner detailsStrait Of Zanzibar: Made a pleasing debut when fading on late into third at Naas, and sure to find a race for him soon but this probably a step up too hard even accounting for improvement from run to run.

Owner details
Tenth Star: Made an exciting debut when staying on late into fourth behind stablemate reply at the Curragh, before then having circumstances go against him when chasing home the Jim Bolger-trained Zip Top here; Made amends when easy winner of 3 runner “Listed” event and probably the one to beat for many.

Owner detailsVault: Looked useful prospect when beating Dragon Pulse in maiden on debut, but disappointing in Railway Stakes; Clearly useful if stable ran him there, and fact he comes back in this company and foolish to discount.

Owner detailsRemember When: Looked a sure – fire winner and even one to make up into pattern race performer when finding only the Coventry Stakes winner too good on debut but big disappointment next time out; Has a big task here.

VERDICT: It’s obvious that Tenth Star has plenty of talent but just what he achieved in beating two useful types in a 3 runner race last time is very debateable and PARISH HALL showed plenty of promise when winning over 6f on his debut and he can go close for a yard that has had a great juvenile season and also targets this race with their better colts - Teofilo and New Approach being two examples.
