1.55 Haydock
Junior Betfair Novices' Chase (Class 2) (4YO plus)
Winner £16,245
Advice: 1 pt win Tornado Bob (7/4 Bet365)
Mr Moonshine: Has been extremely progressive last season,
winning decent event by convincing (although reduced margin); Not upto some of
the better contests on faster ground after that but can’t deny he’s not a
chaser after wide margin win last time at Carlisle; Penalty for that but will
make a bold bid anyway.
Ackertac: Decent hurdler last season, having plenty in hand
when winning 2 novice hurdles and might have found the extra furlong a bit too
far on his first handicap hurdle; Form tailed off a bit since and while he
should take to chasing others are preferred.
Bold Addition: Took time to progress last season but did so
impressively, rounding off with a quick hat-trick over hurdles; Solid second on
return and chasing should suit, so potential although faces three useful recruits.
Tornado Bob: Thrashed by Kid Cassidy on debut but has since
won two of next three, making light work of easy soft ground tasks at Uttoxeter
and Leicester; Posted much better form when only just going down to Sonofvic
(last flight blunder cost him, when he was giving away 3lbs) at Ascot before pulling
up at the festival; Still a very good recruit to chasing though and should go
well on chasing debut.
VERDICT: Mr Moonshine was impressive on debut at Carlisle
and his chasing experience will make him tough to beat once again, but he faces
three smart recruits and debutant TORNADO BOB should go well in receipt of 8lbs.
