The 900th Page - Thanks and Shoutout Special

Well, the landmark number is coming, but making 900 posts on the Vic Page is a huge honour and I’d very much like to thank a few good people who make it all worthwhile. Well, it’s always been worthwhile commenting on the sport I love the most, but it’s always good to have people to share it with. Big thanks to, for varying reasons:

Dan Munn (@chalkbeater) – Top class views on International Racing, and the man behind half of our Melbourne Cup preview. All round good egg who we sure hope beats HSBC. One day, one day,

Calum Madell (@calummadell) – Remember JP From Fresh Meat? This kid’s 10 times cooler and knows his racing like the back of his hand. Lost a 2,000 word Hennessy preview today but he’s going to bounce back, thanks to his top list of horses to follow.

Steven Hurst (@No1racingfan ) – Loves Newcastle and Racing in equal measure. As nice a guy as you’ll find and starting his new blog- racingthoughtsandbets.blogspot.com – today. Worth a read and follow.

Daniel Cody (@dangcody) – Top sporting statistician who’s rarely found, but always has a purpose when he’s in my mentions. The kind of “tipster” with a high strike rate.

Samuel Dunn – (@SDN247) – Another good egg who’s always up for provoking debate, along with offering some top bets.

Lee Oxley (@RandomGeordie) – Another Geordie who has a passion for F1. To be followed just for the fact that his Tumblr won’t drive you totally mental within 10 seconds.

Two budding racing phtographers:

Emma Louise Kerwin (@EmmyKGtS) – A great photographer, when not trapped by public transport (like trains going to Wales before coming back into Exeter) offers general good craic and one strong reason why Grands Crus isn’t a festival certainty.

Francesca Altoft (@riosrider) – A budding racing photographer who’s got a heart of gold and a love for William Buick beyond the reasonable. What’s not to like?

Then there are the “wise men” as I like to know them:

Paul Smith (@Quito113) – Self confessed “banded class spotlighter” with an eye for any sport and something good to say. Tells it like it is.

James Craddock (@agilebeast) –Bookmaker and gooner extraordinaire who’s passion for NFL leads to many amusing, sarcastic tweets about his beloved Cardinals when thing aren’t going their way on Sunday nights.

Rory Delargy (@helynsar) & David Johnson (@davidjohnson82) – Nothing like Timeform Radio to ramp up the racing debate. Nuff’ said.

The SportingBet Crew:

Chris Graham (@SportingBetCG) – Football and Racing loving Scotsman who managed to make the X Factor interesting for me.

Nick Watts (@SportingbetNick) – Another top Gooner to make the list, and the EPL expert of the team. You won’t go far wrong for football tips.

Mark O’Haire (@SportingbetMark) –The stats man as far as Sportingbet’s concerned. Top class Rugby punts nearly every week and a joy to chat with during the World Cup. Nothing more needed than that.

And thanks to these organizations for their helping hands:

Live Odds & Scores (@liveoddsandscores) – The men with the excellent approach of “bet big or go home”, and the men who like quite a few others on this list, does not get led into hype easily. The one guy who knew that Cirrus Des Aigles would win the Champion Stakes.

Sporting Bet (@SportingBet) – More about them above but one of the coolest bookies around. Excllent quiz and always happy to answer a question.
