Crusaders (1/66) v
Southern Kings (80)
The Crusaders lost their first two games but defeats on the
road to the Blues – who had the benefit of a game the week beforehand – and
Hurricanes were nothing to be Ashamed of and the Bulls were unlucky enough to
feel the full force of their talent last week. The Southern Kings have been
impressive so far this season but may well be blown away but a backline which
has run in ten tries in it’s last two tests and the Crusaders can rack up
something close to 50 points.
Advice: 3 pts Crusaders to score 43 or more points (5/6 Stan
James, Ladbrokes)
Reds (4/7) v Bulls
(2)
This is a hard game to call with the disappointing fashion
that both teams lost in last week. The Reds have won three of their 5 games but
have failed to find the cohesion they’re so famed for and were stung badly by
the Force when taking the wrong approach to their attacking play last week, and
while the Bulls were cut to pieces by the Crusaders, they face much less of a
threat here and look well worth backing to stay within a score.
Advice: 1 pt Bulls +6 (10/11 general)
Western Force (4/5) v
Cheetahs (13/10)
This is a tight game
with both teams on a real high – the Force having beaten the Reds at Suncorp
Stadium last week while a win for the Cheeaths over the Waraths would also have
provided a big mental boost. Before that they also turned over the Highlanders
in impressive style and even without Johan Goosen they will take some beating, but
his loss might just be the turning factor.
Advice: 1 pt Force to win by 1-12 points (13/8 Bet365)
Sharks (1/8) v Rebels
(8)
The Sharks were beaten for the first time this season by the
Brumbies, the winning margin being only two points more than the defeat
inflicted upon the Rebels by the Brumbies. That makes a 14 point start for the
Force feel generous and the 1-12 winning margin makes far more appeal.
Advice: 1 pt Sharks to win by 1-12 points (9/4 general)
Stormers (8/11) v
Brumbies (11/8)
The tightest and biggest game of the week in the Super 15.
The Stormers put on a vintage performance to edge out the Chiefs in an incredible
game when they last met despite being outscored 4 tries to two, edging the game
at the breakdown with the Chiefs arguably on the wrong side of Jaco Peyper. The
Brumbies have arguably been the most impressive side in the Super 15 so far,
destroying every side they’ve played and racking up a try bonus point on three
occasions. It might also be worth taking notice of the fact that the Brumbies
also beat the same Sharks side that reduced the Stormers to only two penalties
by a convincing 19 points, and even with Pococok and long term injury, are
arguably the best breakdown side in the Super 15. In what looks to be an uber
tight game, it’s surprising to see the Brumbies given as much as 4 points in
the head start – which would cover a loss by a penalty – and they gets the
vote.
Advice: 2 pts Brumbies +4 (10/11 Ladbrokes)
Waratahs (6/4) v Blues (8/11)
The Blues were turned over by the Bulls last week but have
been very impressive otherwise and should be capable of covering a 2 point
handicap at the Waraths to get back to winning ways.
Advice: 1 pt Bules -2 (evs Stan James)
