Giro D'Italia 2013 - Stage 2 (Naples)

Yesterday’s first stage of the Giro was a betting paradise for followers as we had Nacer Bouhanni and Elia Viviani finish in the top three at big prices while our winner Mark Cavendish gained the 25 points given for the win in the race for the red jersey.

From a betting point of view there’s nowhere near such obvious value in today’s Team Time Trial, an extremely technical affair in which bike handling and formation are all important for the 9 man outfits. Standing at just 17.4KM – nearly half the distance of the event which Garmin won last year, where there was just 34 seconds separating the top 10 teams.

There have been four team time trials run this year, two of them in Italy, although a lot of them go with different squads to the ones that will be seen riding today and the advice is to leave the event alone from a betting point of view.
