Chester Vase 2013

2.45 Chester
MBNA Chester Vase (Group 3) (Class 1)  (3YO only)

Advice: 1 pt Feel Like Dancing (6/1 general)

Feel Like Dancing: Practically screamed that he was a staying prospect when getting up right on the nose to land 1m3f Newbury maiden last month; Extra furlong and general experience should see him come on a ton for that run, and regally bred sort (Brother to useful 1m4f/14.6f winner Suraj, half-brother to 6f (Cheveley Park) and 1m (Coronation) winner Indian Ink) should make a bold bid here.

Gabrials Kaka: Made all on debut here in 7f maiden last year, after which he followed up over another undulating track at Epsom in 1m½f event; Made a lot of the running back at Epsom but could be only third at the sharp end and hard to imagine that his stamina will be as strong as others.

Havana Beat: Form of Sandown maiden now rock solid - followed home by three subsequent winners – and fourth on reappearance, a run for which he should improve, boosted by win of Windhoek in Listed company afterwards; Should enjoy this trip too and lots of potential.

Mister Impatience: Hammered early season rivals at Doncaster after steady progression through his two-year-old campaign included a Nottingham win; However struggled up in class back on good ground at Epsom when behind Gabrial’s Kaka (never raced on anything better than soft) and hard to fancy.

Ruler Of The World: Very much the buzz horse of this race after Curragh maiden win (front two well clear) a race for which he is sure to improve mentally and physically, and bred to be group class at least (half-brother to top-class middle-distance performer Duke Of Marmalade); Could find serious amount of improvement if cheekpeices and longer trip wake him up then could be class ahead as market vibes suggest but short.

VERDICT: All of the attention is on Ruler of The World, Pricewise’s Derby pick and a one raced winner who promises to improve form his Curragh success, especially if woken up by cheek-pieces throughout the race today, but he’s short on all known evidence and FEEL LIKE DANCING looked as if he had no end of extra improvement to give for an extra furlong when winning at Newbury, and he’s sure to go well here with improvement in mind. Just as regally bred as the favourite, he is the value in the race, ahead of Havana Beat.
