Today's Pointer - Grand National Day

It’s probably not the wisest thing to suggest a best before the National, even more foolish the last race beforehand, but there’s a lot to guest that with a kinder ride and better start, Great Endeavor can beat Bensalem off 9lbs better terms today in the John Smith's Handicap Chase (Listed). Having been left behind at the start, he was rushed up to make a prominent position around the outside, and when Rare Bob was pulled up before the 11th, he had to force a pace which ended up in the race being run in 6m10s. If he’s none the worse for having fallen two out hell go really close today.

Great Endeavor - Can beat Bensalem with more patient ride
His main rival is obviously Bensalem, who made amends in style when just getting the better of Totesport Bowl runner up Carole’s Legacy , having travelled superbly. A 9lbs higher mark is very fair and he can go close again. Reve De Sivola makes too many mistakes for my liking, while Tarablaze’s jumping doesn’t convince me.

Advice

1 pt Great Endeavor, 3.25 Aintree (7/2 Paddy Power)
