Serie A - Roma v AC Milan

The bet of tonight looks to be Roma to extend their hot streak to 9 in a battle of two of Serie A’s most in form teams. AC Milan, who look to have sorted out the issues that have plagued them for so much of this season, faced Roma in December languishing in ninth place under the soon to be removed Massimo Allegri and battled their way to a hard fought draw, but with a turbulent season the arrival of Clarence Seedorf and some smart transfer market moves have seen things finally click, with a run of 6 unbeaten games from the end of March –including 5 wins on the bounce, by an aggregate score of 11-1 - leaving them just 5 points behind rivals Inter with a Milan derby still to come.

They head into tonight’s game as one of the form teams in Serie A but face a Roma side that, transformed from last season under Rudi Garcia’s stewardship, is on a remarkable run of eight straight wins since their 1-0 loss at Napoli in March. Garcia’s men will equal their points record for the season with even a draw tonight, and are on course to beat the record number of points for second in a season with 82 points and four games yet to go. Milan are dangerous opponents firing on all cylinders but 4 of their recent wins have come against sides in the bottom seven and Roma have failed to win only three of their seventeen games at home, and based on their performances from previous weeks, aren’t lacking in motivation at this late stage of the season.
