3.45 Longchamp
Qatar Prix Du Moulin De Longchamp (Group 1) (Class 1) (3YO plus)
Winner €257,130
Advice: 3 pts win Moonlight Cloud (11/10 general)
Farhh: Shaped as Group 1 horse when romping home off mark of
100 in Thirsk Hunt Cup and proved that with desperately unlucky third in Prince
Of Wales’s Stakes and close second in Eclipse (form of which looks very strong
now thanks to Nathaniel and Cityscape); No match for Frankel in Sussex or
Juddmnte International but has an excellent chance of adding to group 1 tally
in what’s essentially 2 horse race.
Moonlight Cloud: Gone from strength to strength this year,
landing second Maurice De Gheest in exceptional style at Deavuille (had
previously all but beaten Black Caviar at Royal Ascot) before coming fourth in
Jaques Le Marois; Never really put into the race when fourth there and this
should suit a lot more with speed likely to be the emphasis of the day.
Caspar Netscher: Had a terrific season and another career
best when fifth in the Jacques Le Marois last time out, although he was well
beaten by Moonlight Cloud who had to come late; Well placed here.
Sarkiyla: Extremely progressive considering that she has won
four out of her 5 starts, but all out to win weak fillies Group 2 and won’t be
upto this.
VERDICT: Amazingly – with no Frankel about – there are only
4 runners here and only two of them can really win on form. In a tactical race
Farhh will have the stamina edge, but MOONLIGHT CLOUD’S superior turn of foot makes
her the bet.
