Drinmore Novice Chase 2012

1.35 Fairyhouse
Bar One Racing Drinmore Novice Chase (grade 1) (Class 1)  (4YO plus)
Winner €48,750

Advice: 1 pt Arvika Legionnaire (5/2 general); 1 pt treble Champagne Fever (1.05), Arvika Legionnaire (1.35), Zaidpour (2.40) (30.94 Bet Victor)

Owner detailsArvika Legionnaire: Lightly raced but immense promise at spring festivals two years ago when cantering in Albert Bartlett but failing to stay the trip and destroying opposition dropped down to minimum trip in novice hurdle at Punchestown; Chasing debut after injury here in summer was incredibly impressive and while not seen since, one would assume his jumping can stand test; Big chance.

Owner detailsBuckers Bridge: Made it 4-4 with hard fought beginners chase win here at end of October, impressing with the way he jumped out of the ground and the attitude he showed at the end of gruelling duel between him and subsequent winner Sword Of Destiny; Should come on physically for that so deserving of respect.

Owner detailsDedigout: Grade 1 winner at Punchestown Festival (2m4f, heavy) and sparkling debut over fences a month ago when he beat subsequent dual winner Happy New Year by no less than 34l; Those two pieces of form make him the one to beat here and should take the beating for yard who had last year’s winner Bog Warrior here.

Owner detailsJacksonlady: Completed chasing four timer with victory in Tipperary Grade 3 but that came all the way back in October and this a much higher standard he faces; Needs to improve once again.

Owner detailsTexas Jack: Had looked very good at one point during last season but exposed in top company and others make more appeal despite impressive win over fences last time.

VERDICT: A small but select field once again. Dedigout’s Grade 1 hurdling win and impressive chasing debut make him the obvious one but a chance is taken on ARVIKA LIGEONNIERE proving as good as his novice hurdling form and chasing debut make him look at a slightly bigger price, with respect given to the exciting prospect Buckers Bridge.
