Autumn Internationals 2013 - Scotland v South Africa

New Zealand stand on the brink of yet another record breaking year and have underlined their credentials as the side to beat in two years time but South Africa have rapidly turned into a serious side under Henyke Meyer and they look to be Scotland’s hardest test of the Autumn here.

Ranked second in the world behind New Zealand, South Africa are one of just three sides to have tested New Zealand properly this year, with arguably the performance of the year from a non All Black side when playing them twice in the Rugby Championship – they only defeat in 11 tests this year.

Meyer’s early results – which included a win by 10 points here last year – were criticised by a South African public tired of conservative rugby but the electric work of the Springbok pack that has matched any of their opponents this year has allowed them to lay down a platform for their backs to land 42 tries and make more linebreaks than even New Zealand this year. Scotland have improved too as a 3rd place in the 6 Nations show, but South Africa should be well conditioned by their brual win against Wales and have the physicality get on top of Scotland as well. Take an away win by 11-20 points.

Advice

1 pt South Africa to win by 11-20 points (21/10 Paddy Power)
