The New Rugby Championship has provided thrills and spills a
plenty but it’s clear that in no explicit terms that New Zealand are still the
world’s best side and that by some distance, so it’s hard to see them making it
anything less than three from three in this year’s Championship against
Argentina this morning.
Steve Hansen’s side have failed to win only twice since the
beginning of last year’s World Cup, drawing with Australia in the third
Blesidoe Cup game and then suffering a famously large defeat to England on the
end of last Autumn’s internationals when the side were under the weather in the
week before. Barring that, they’ve proven to be night on unbeatable and in
beating Australia comfortably in their first two games, especially a 47-29 win
in Sydney before a less empathic, but still comfortable home successes against
the Wallabies last week.
Argentina lit up the championship at times last year.
Showing the rugby world exactly while they should have been in this tournament
long before this time, they had the potential set to be a yet sterner test this
season but were decimated by South Africa in a shambolic show before reversing
a 60 point defeat to a 5 point one in Mendoza a week later.
That suggests that their away form – like most inexperienced
sides at any level of rugby – is still a level below their home form – and this
should be a matter of how much. 25 of New Zealand’s last 27 home wins have been
by 10 points or more and Bet Victor’s 4/6 about the hosts giving up 12 has to
be snatched up.
Advice
6 pts New Zealand -12 (4/6 Bet Victor)
