Sodexo Prestige Reynoldstown Novices' Chase

1.50 Ascot
Sodexo Prestige Reynoldstown Novices' Chase (Class 1) (5YO plus)
Winner £14,082

Pick: The Minack (win)

Billie Magern: Made hay in the summer jumping circuit over fences, winning 4 times on the bounce; Has since struggled to really hold his own in some good races, having been well beaten behind Chicago Grey and then coming fifth at the Open meeting; Hard to fancy on that evidence but small field will suit him and not one to be dismissed with an easy lead.

Master Of The Hall: 3 from 5 since appearing in Britain, and looked promising when winning at Sandown and Newbury on his first two starts over hurdles; Made a good chasing debut (last fence error apart) here an although well beaten in the Dipper bounced back in good style at Huntingdon and good run assured today.

Teddy’s Reflection: Put up a bold show when winning a novices handicap chase earlier here, but didn’t impress when throwing away weak race last time out; Lot more on here.

The Minack: Impressed with attitude and jumping when winning three out of five over hurdles last season, and has confirmed promise with two good wins over fences this year; Didn’t seem to stay this trip over hurdles but well worth chance to get it here and possible class act in the making.

VERDICT: A bold show is probably coming from Master Of The Hall but THE MINACK has the makings of a serious chaser if progressing from two decent wins this year.
