Dubai Carnival 2011 - Week 4

3.00 - Meydan Classic Trial Conditions Stakes (Turf): An usually weak South American challenge may give this to ROAYH, who never ran a bad race last season and comes from a yard that farm events such as these. Energia Carioca did at least win last time in a weak minor event but his form in Brazil entitles him to respect.

Advice: Roayh (win)

3.40 - UAE 1000 Guineas (Tapeta): Essentially a rematch of the 1,000 Guineas Trial ran here last month. MAHOOBA is 7lbs better off with Reem for only a half length beating in that race last time, form that has her as the clear pick here over rivals Chocolicious, Empire Rose, Quick Val and Crying Lightening.

Advice: Mahooba (win)

4.15 - Etisalat eLife Handicap (Turf): Back on turf and up in trip, STAR EMPIRE has a clear chance of building on his third last time out by winning here. The gelding was a Listed winner in South Africa and put in a pleasing effort over 10 furlongs here last month, so he’s taken to beat De La Two & Telluride.

Advice: Star Empire (win)

4.55 - Al Shindagha Sprint (Group 3) (Turf): OUR GIANT revealed just why his top connections showed patience in him when making a winning return here last month and can continue to make up for lost time by bagging another big prize. Mutheeb and Inxile may be his closest pursuers.

Advice: Our Giant (win)

5.35 - Etisalat My Plan Handicap (Turf): COLONIAL is taken on the promised that he showed when fourth behind Mendip in Round 1 of the Maktoum Challenge last time, a run for which he should improve.

Advice: Colonial (win)

6.10 - Al Maktoum Challenge Round 2 (Turf): A very strong renewal which is likely to provide plenty of carnival clues for the upcoming big events. GITANO HERNANDO is taken to beat off Al Shemali, Interaction and the greatly respected Bold Silvano.

Advice: Gitano Hernando (win)

6.45 – Etisalat Wasel Handicap (Tapeta): HERE TO WIN was set too much to do last time and can make amends here, having hopefully come on for the run. He can find enough to hold off Hot Six, Haateq and any potential improvement found by Gallahad for his first run here.

Advice: Here To Win (win)
