Tote Pick Six Rollover Spring Juvenile Hurdle

1.05 Leopardstown
Tote Pick Six Rollover Spring Juvenile Hurdle (Grade 1) (Class 1) (4YO only)
Winner €45,500

Pick: Indian Daudaie (win)

Fearless Falcon: Hasn’t been out of the first three since his hurdling debut, and is closely matched with Toner D’Oudaries on their last 2 meetings; Failed to get the job done last time and has it all on here.

Indian Daudaie: Took time to get the hang of things in France but improved massively for experience, coming second (albeit remote) in a Grade 1 Hurdle; Made an excellent debut for Nicholls yard when third to tow very useful horses in the Finesse Hurdle at Cheltenham on trial day (giving away 3lbs) and looks sure to improve for that; Handles this ground and major player.

Kalann: Very smart on the flat, coming fourth, third and then wining a decent race at Dundalk and made most pleasing hurdles debut possible when second to Toner D’Oudaries at Fairyhouse; Vey disappointing last time even if he didn’t get best run of race and looks up against it here.

Louisville Lip: Made a most promising/impressive hurdles debut when easily getting the better of Maxim Gorky at Thurles last time; Looks a top class type but this a big step up in class against similar horses.

Maxim Gorky: Was one of the best of these on the flat, winning a solid Newmarket handicap (took maiden earlier in the season); Made a decent debut behind Louisville Lip last time and has it tough.

Pena Dorada: Ran well in defeat when just pipped under 5lbs penalty at Aintree (having made light work of an average field at Kelso previously) but well beaten on step up to Grade 2 company at Cheltenham previously and this harder still.

Sailors Warn: Improved on first two runs by massive amount when winning a Grade 2 event ran over C&D with plenty to spare after the last; Form possibly a little weak for the grade but plenty in hand, most beaten horses reoppose, and given every chance.

Tilahow: Taking a step forward with every run over hurdles, winning Grade 3 event last time out after a close second; Form of that event is relatively solid but leaves him with a lot to find today.

Toner D’Oudaries: Sent off favourite for the Grade 2 contest won by Sailors Warn last time out (under a 3lbs penalty) having previously won a Grade 3 events and was poor in coming a one paced fourth; Has a lot more to do here.

Chaperoned: Has run well on both starts, coming third behind Tilahow in a maiden hurdle before then coming third in the Grade 3 won by the aforementioned horse; Has it all to do to reverse form however although very shrewd/classy trainer rates her highly.

Unaccompanied: Made the most taking debut in the field when romping home by 9 lengths on debut, showing serious speed when dismissing admittedly average field; Seems like a class act on the surface though and has every chance of being good enough.

VERDICT: INDIAN DAUDAIE made a very promising debut at Cheltenham just over a week ago giving 3lbs to two very useful types on their own way and has a big chance if over those exertions, with the fact that he handles the ground also being a big bonus. There are plenty of classy types here, the most feared of which is Unaccompanied, with Sailors Warn, Louisville Lip and the Gigginstown House Stud owned pair of Toner D’Odaries and Tilahow making this the best juvenile race run all season in Ireland.
