7.05 Leopardstown
Itm/springpaarden Fonds Nederland Ballyroan Stakes (group 3) (3YO plus)
Winner €39,000
Profound Beauty: Top class older mare who has simply gotten better with age and this season no exception, two wins from three starts this year with an effortless victory over Listed company here three weeks ago; Likely to be cut above.
Indiana Gal: Always tries hard to run her race but looks up against it here.
Akzar: Showed a lot of promise when getting better of prolonged tussle with Be My Storm to win decent maiden at Curragh, so disappointing when edged out by Mid Mon Lady despite it only being his second race; Can be expected to do better here but would need to do so; Promising colt.
Await The Dawn: Easily put away stablemate by 4 lengths on debut, looking like a colt with a future; Found step up in class too much when last in Champagne Stakes, but still holds a lot of promise and this only third start.
Snow Blizzard: Made a decent debut here, scoring in workmanlike fashion over 1m2f from Maverick Man (who hasn’t won since but has held decent level of form); Comes out with lot of credit seeing as he was able to kick away from field with runner up and step up in trip no problem as he’s bred for it and could take a big hand.
VERDICT: A useful field. PROFOUND BEAUTY is becoming a very attractive filly to watch in motion and useful as this field is, she is expected to crush this lot rather easily on her way to a major prize. The Yorkshire Oaks and Irish St Leger are possible targets before Melbourne in November.
