1.20 Longchamp
Prix Marcel Boussac (Fillies' Group 1) (Class 1) (2YO only)
Winner €177,570
Advice: 2 pts win Zatenda (2/1 general)
Rajastani: Hacked up on debut success and beat subsequent
winner with something to spare at Deauville and game in defeat to Zatenda,
although she was well held in the end and should be same story again.
Falls Of Lora: Shaped with promise when second to Glee on debut
at Goodwood, and much improved when impressive winner at Doncaster last time; Found
that form for first time since when easy winner of Ascot conditions race,
although she got first run on field; Interesting supplementary entry.
Yellow Rosebud: Looked capable of making the step upto Group
company when winning well on debut at Leopardstown, and performed with credit
when second to Maybe last time out; Step up in trip might help and interesting.
Fire Lily: Been one of most consistent fillies this season,
running into two very strong fillies the last twice after Group 3 win; Not sure
how she compared with Yellow Rosebud or if she’s had too hard a season
(possible having been on the go since April).
Elusive Kate: Made expected improvement from promising debut
when cosy winner at Kempton and has since landed two Group events in France
since, winning with ease on both occasions; Should go well.
Zantenda: Beat colts on debut at Deauville and even more
impressive over course and distance in her trial, when getting up late on to
deny Rajasatani (had been blocked in running); Should go very well here, with
small field likely to mean a god clean run.
VERDICT: A race which is filled with horses from the UK and
Ireland maybe kept at home thanks to ZATENDA, who was most impressive when
beating Rajastani on trials day with plenty to spare. Maybe’s form gets a good
testing through Yellow Rosebud and Fire Lily, although both may be outdone by
Elusive Kate.
