4.10 Chepstow
Bet At Bluesq.Com On Your Mobile Novices´ Chase (Class 3)
(4yo+) Winner £7,148
Advice: 2 pts win Silviniaco Conti
Le Corvee: 11 wins from 82 races, although only 1 (a
Stratford novice chase in July) from 11 over fences and latest effort gives
impression that conceding 4lbs to this field is above him.
Cue Card: Won easily on debut and then ran away with
Cheltenham Bumper last year, pulling clear of several good horses in strong
renewal; although he didn’t quite fulfilled the promise shown when slamming
Dunraven Storm (well beaten by Menorah, when 7-4 for Supreme, and at Aintree),
things didn’t go his way and that form still very strong; Jumping fine but
would want to be settling here over 2m4f.
Micheal Flips: Ran a bold race to come fourth in the Coral
Cup having won the Lanzarote hurdle in 2010 and respectable form last campaign,
when fourth in big Aintree handicap; No reason to think he can’t improve on
that over fences.
Silviniaco Conti: : Won first four outings, dotting up on
all occasions (has an aggregate victory distance of 61 lengths) and set for
very top based on 7 length Ascot Hurdle romp, with established high class
horses being beaten soundly in behind; Ran an excellent race to be third in the
International Hurdle giving 4lbs in weight to Cue Card (so should come out on
top based on that formline) before disappointing at Wincanton in Kingwell
Hurdle; Chasing should be his game and real prospect.
VERDICT: Only 4 runners but a race which most of the jump
world will have eyes on given the presence of top hurdler/chasers Cue Card and
SILVINIACO CONTI, with preference for the latter based on his Ascot Hurdle win
and the fact he meets his rival on better terms based on their Meeting in the
International Hurdle last season.
