1 pt each/way Margot Did, 3.45 Newmarket (7/1 general)
The Palace House Stakes is one of the fiercest sprints in
the season and this year looks no different, with Mayson – an impressive winner
of the Abernant – headlining the betting. If he runs as well here as he did
there then 5/1 could look generous and it’s to be noted that 2 of the last 9
winners took the Abernant Stakes - but
this could be a great chance for the Michael Bell trained Margot Did to get
another big win on the board.
A surprising winner of the
Nunthrope under an exceptionally strong ride from Hayley Turner, she’s not placed
since but has had excuses for all 3 runs, with the quick ground not helping her
at all considering that she has her best ever performance barring that Nunthorpe
win on a soft surface at Sandown. With the stands side having just won the
2,000 Guineas battle, she looks well drawn in 13 and there’s a lot to like
about her chances
