Singapore Trainer Steven Burridge has had an incredible time at this year’s Canrival and his Ip Man can take it to 5 winners for him here. A comfortable winner of a handicap here a couple of weeks ago, he now has to concede the weight to his rivals here but he’s reated 10lbs clear, should improve for the run, and faces what seems a similar or inferior field to what he beat last time.

Several of these ran in a conditions event over the C&D recently won by Dark Matter (who doesn’t run here) but they were all well beaten and need to show serious improvement. Bible Black may be worth another chance out of them but even he has something to prove, while Kenny Powers returns from a 211 day absence, which takes away the lusture of the inside draw for him.

Tipped up on this page when he last won, Sand Stamp is interesting despite winning a really poor race. He could come on again and make a place even from stall 13, but only one interests me for the win purposes.

Godolphin have a promising crop of classic horses this season and Gamilati can make it 2-2 as a 3yo with victory in the UAE 1,000 Guineas. A Group 2 winner last season – having run into two Group class horses on her first two starts 0 her one disappointment came at York in the Lowther but that was an odd week for many fancied horses and it’s best left alone formwise. Sent off just 4/11 for her seasonal reappearance, she only had to be pushed out to easily give weight and a beating to Alsindi over 7 furlongs here. That should have put her spot on for this, and the advantage of a run can help her beat Pimpernel, whose second to Wading on the Rockfel makes her a serious threat to the selection, for all she doesn’t have a run to her name here.
